Apply the Proper Protection Before Summer Begins!

For homeowner's insurance customers:

  • Review your policy for adequate coverage: Make sure your homeowner's insurance policy provides sufficient coverage for potential summer-related risks like storms, hurricanes, wildfires, or flooding. Consider adding additional coverage if needed.

  • Prepare your property: Take preventive measures to protect your home from potential summer hazards. Trim trees, clear gutters, secure loose items, and ensure your property is well-maintained.

  • Update your home inventory: Before the start of summer, update your home inventory to include any new purchases or changes in the value of your possessions. This will help you accurately assess your coverage needs and simplify the claims process if necessary.

  • Consider additional liability coverage: If you plan to host gatherings or events at your home during summer, consider increasing your liability coverage. This will protect you financially in case someone gets injured or property damage occurs on your premises.

  • Communicate with your insurance provider: If you've scheduled any major renovations or improvements to your home during the summer, inform your insurance provider. They can guide you on any necessary adjustments to your policy.

For auto insurance customers:

  • Check your coverage: Review your auto insurance policy to ensure it provides adequate coverage for your summer activities, such as road trips or vacations. Consider increasing coverage limits if needed.

  • Inspect your vehicle: Before hitting the road for summer adventures, have your vehicle inspected and perform any necessary maintenance. Ensuring your car is in good condition can help prevent breakdowns and accidents.

  • Update your emergency kit: Prepare or update your vehicle's emergency kit to include essential items like water, non-perishable food, first aid supplies, a flashlight, and tools. This will help you stay prepared in case of unexpected events.

  • Understand rental car coverage: If you plan to rent a car for a summer trip, check if your auto insurance policy provides coverage for rental vehicles. If not, consider purchasing additional coverage from the rental company or through your insurance provider.

  • Be cautious on the road: Summertime often means increased traffic and more travelers on the road. Practice defensive driving, follow traffic rules, and stay alert to reduce the risk of accidents.

  • Inquire about roadside assistance: If your policy doesn't include roadside assistance, consider adding it for prompt assistance in case of a breakdown or other roadside emergencies.

Remember, it's important to seek personalized advice from our office to ensure your specific needs are met.

Here is a little about me:

Welcome to my Levi Monk State Farm insurance office in beautiful Lexington, KY! Although my State Farm office primarily focuses on Fayette County and the surrounding area, we are licensed to serve Kentucky with their Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance needs, including auto, home, property, business, life, and pet insurance, as well as other policy services.

I’m originally from Louisiana and first began my State Farm career as an agent team member from 2012-2016. I was inspired to become an agent and open my own business in 2017 so I could have a positive impact on people’s lives.

As a State Farm agent, I believe it’s essential to take the time to know your customers in order to help them make the right educated decisions for protecting who and what they love.

When I’m not talking about insurance, I enjoy traveling, landscaping and home projects, volunteering and cooking for others, watching and discussing TV & movies, playing basketball and flag football, working out, rucking, and going out to eat with my family! I also hold a bachelor’s degree from L.S.U.
